Insanely twisted shadow planet - an action-adventure metroidvania designed by artists and animators Michel Gagne and Joe Olson. Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir has been selected for musical accompaniment.
The side scroller is different in that it does not contain any text or speech at all to reveal the plot. All narration is served only through music and videos. The action takes place on a distant star system where aliens live. An unknown parasite infects local black lands. To fight this entity, the scientist hero gets into the starship and challenges various creatures and bosses.
The gameplay is made in the spirit of the famous Metroid: there is a huge world, access to some locations is blocked by obstacles, access to which the player will gain as the campaign progresses, unlocking new abilities and skills after the next victory over the boss.
The world of the game is very diverse with a large number of branches, giving access to new videos. Locations show the rapid evolution of organisms that have been infected by an unknown infection.
